What's in ChiroSocialTech's Social Media ToolBox?
Social Media a DC Should Live On:
- Facebook Clinic Page
- Facebook Doctor Page
- Google +
Facebook is a given. You will want to determine if you should have a Facebook Page for just your clinic, or for you as a doctor as well. There is power in both and having a brand and personality page to interact with. It starts with your goal and niche target audience for each. Facebook is the only social platform that you must live inside of. Many other sites as you will see below you can take a set and go approach or spend the majority of your time simply scheduling content. Find me on Facebook
You will see a higher organic reach and more opportunities to add to your posts by scheduling content inside of your Facebook Page (phone or desktop).
LinkedIn and Google+ are two sites that are more set and go for any Chiropractor. Both sites rank high and both give you additional local SEO opportunity; the ultimate reason you should invest a small amount of your time to set them up, schedule content - outlined in Hootsuite below -, and audit at minimum Quarterly is recommended. YouTube is also related to the Google Family and is, as we all know, a high volume video search tool. There is a lot to leverage in using YouTube correctly for owning one of the top 3 local Google search spots. ChiroSocialTech is hosting a webinar next month on How to Optimize YouTube Videos for Google Rankings; stay tuned to chirosocialtech.com/events to ensure your seat! Find me on YouTube
Twitter, I also put into the Google family because in 2015 it signed a partnership which allows public tweets to be searchable within the algorithm and listed in the form on cards in the search engine. Twitter is a very real-time social environment and it is not uncommon for large brands to tweet in upwards of 60-100 times per day. I recommend and aim for 5-15 tweets per day. Twitter is another good site to push more of your other sites content too as you will see in scheduling below and to keep your content relevant for a longer period of time. It's not mentioned in this article, but using RSS Feeds with Hootsuite or using a paid site called Edgar if you have a large value for Twitter are two additional twitter power tips. You will find added power in adding Instagram, SnapChat, Periscope and/or Pinterest. A quick note on each:
Instagram is owned by Facebook and is an image/short video only feed. In the most recent updates Facebook opened up running ads (from your Facebook account) in Instagram and removing the chronological newsfeed we loved just as it did for Facebook. This is a necessary step to monetizing as an ad platform, thankfully, for you as a business. Find me on Instagram
Periscope is second to doing Facebook Live, which is dominant to automating and saving the most time and energy and getting the most value out of social! Learn about either and ask me exactly what I mean- schedule free LIVE consult! Find me on Periscope
Pinterest, while also an image feed social site, it quite different than Instagram. Pinterest allows you to create "boards" which you can pin things to. It is a great site for inspiration, quotes, content, recipes, design, and anything content research related. The site can also be lucrative to a Chiropractic Office that uses it to repin quotes and education to their audience and can create a larger push to your website by sharing your blog posts or videos. The key is to creating an image that you are able to attach a link to that will call a person's attention. Chalene Johnson has the most organized Pinterest account I have ever seen. Snapchat, I 100 percent need to confess, I do not use. The honest reason was when it started, I was focusing my attention on understanding Instagram and didn't want or need to focus on both. I also feel it has a more personal, messenger, friend to friend type of social feel and haven't found a comfortable approach or need with my audience to live there. It as any other social site listed above, has a huge potential for any business that takes some time to set it up, learn the audience and the environment and relate to it.
Content to Create
Videos are KING of Content. Still and only becoming more dominant as technology continues to give us more capabilities. Technology is growing to be virtual, in storage, computing and usage. It is becoming operable visually and verbally with introductions like Amazon Echo and Google Home later this year. Virtual Reality, 360-Video and Live Streaming are three terms to search later. The first two not even necessarily for your clinic, just because it's very cool what's here and what's coming soon!

Blogs can be incredibly beneficial if they reach your audience. As the sea of content continues to grow, ranking for keyword is becoming less important by Google in how it weighs it's algorithm. This doesn't mean, ditch your blogs. It means take your blogs content seriously now. Forget about writing about "keywords" and write about what you want to tell your patients and/or potential patients. Think outside the box with your blogs- For example, maybe write a blog about the Top 10 Summer Healthy Active Family Activities local families can do. With your blogs, as with all the other content I mention here, it is most important to push that content so your audience can consume it. The content you create here is what you can use to schedule posts and content across your social platforms and throughout time.
Images that you share have the ability not only to grab your readers attention and make them stop scrolling, but also to promote your clinic's branding and awareness. Rather than share other sites quotes, inspiration and educational images, create your own. It's easier than ever to be creative digitally. Add your logo, your website, your fb/clinicname or sign your name and share away. Images can be created for your blogs, video covers, social content shares, events, testimonials and much more! Be relative to your niche target audience and what you want to share with them.
Text posts in Facebook in many ways, especially longer ones have proven to have a high engagement and organic reach. The text you attach to your Images or your "post copy" has huge power in how you word it. You want to create a good mix of posts that are light hearted and engaging but also provoke thought and ultimately action. Share, comment, refer!
InfoGraphics allow your audience to learn more about your topic through images, a systematic process or guided path and text. It creates a story for the viewer that they can follow and connect to. InfoGraphics could be used by a Chiropractic clinic in a variety of ways to show how Chiropractic works, the process of Chiropractic over a span of time, the flow from corrective to maintenance care or the compound of subluxations not removed by a Chiropractor over a span of time- to get the ideas flowing for you.
- Adobe Spark Post
Canva.com is one of my daily used sites for content creation from a desktop. The free version gives you a multitude of options and you can purchase any templates or images inside the site, very easily for $1/each. One of the first amazing things about Canva is the ability to create a graphic that has the optimal pre-determined size. Once inside, my best advice is to start with a blank page and start adding your text and then your logos or any uploaded images, then start adding your background, formatting and extras. Get a full tutorial for Chiropractors- great to share with your CA/OC's- here!
Adobe Spark Post is a free app for your smartphone that gives similar wondrous image creation features like Canva. The app is very user friendly and robust in it's capabilities. Many free templates and images already in the platform to use.
PicPostPlay is also a free smartphone app that allows you to create collages. The reason I use this app over others is because of it's ability to add a video, live image, picture or create an image within your design. For example, one cube could just be your website or name or logo while the other is a video auto-playing in someone's feed.
Typorama is another smartphone app to create quick, custom images. Typorama is free and I use it for quick things such as quotes. It's features aren't near as built out as Adobe Sparkpost.
Camtasia is what I use to edit videos. There is iMovie for any Mac users out there as well. I have tested and played with multiple apps and free online platforms, but I find Camtasia's purchased video editing software to be the easiest, most robust platform for video editing. I am an affiliate for Camtasia, so if you do purchase the software through this website, you will get a complimentary hour long training on how to use and best practices for Chiropractic clinics.
InfoGram is a desktop site that helps you create infographics with templates and add ons specific for creating quality infographics you can share to your social networks.
Slideshare is something I surprisingly use quite often. I am not yet sure it's conversion for doctor's using, but I do know many Chiropractors that have created many powerpoint presentations that are full of great information collecting dust in a folder on your computer. Add some clinic branding to those slides and a call to action slide with a link to your website and upload it into slideshare.
Storage, Save, Transfer
- Google Drive
Google Drive, Box and DropBox are all cloud storage sites you can sign up and get desktop and smartphone apps to access- yes you should get the app on your phone.
1. Save content for re-use
2. Share with others
3. Save storage/memory on hardware
4. Access anywhwere, anytime
5. Transfer content from device to device
6. Organization of content
- Health Secrets TV
Hootsuite can be used from a website, google chrome extension and app and includes free and paid services. The platform was highlighted on a recent #TechTuesday you can check out here for a deeper inside look. The basic concept is it allows you to schedule content and push to multiple social platforms. This is your time saver and how you can spread content and feed your social sites the content you've created. The monthly paid version is $9.99/month and worth every single penny. There isn't any other scheduling social service out there that gives you this power and reach for the price. I use the google chrome extension and app on my iPhone to consistently schedule original as well as shared content to my Instagram, Twitter, Linked Profile, Facebook Groups, LinkedIn Groups, and Google +. I mean when else are you really going to post to Google +?!
If This Then That (ITTT) can be accessed on both a webpage and through an app. This is one powerful automation tool, not only for your social media, but potentially for your life. The concept of the technology is that you can create action triggers between apps. If this happens then that happens. You will link your apps and login to them to give ITTT access and then start setting up recipes. You can find many cool ones already created and then just edit the recipe to fit your needs. The best part of ITTT is you spend some time setting it up and then let it run. You should also audit and ensure you see that it is working and the way you want. I did test recipes and if they didn't do what I wanted or looked the way I liked, then I removed them. Share your favorite ITTT recipes with us on the ChiroSocialTech Facebook Page.
Health Secrets TV is a Chiropractic Reception Room Broadcasting Software that I highly recommend, oh yes, and I sell! Check out my products page for more information and schedule a consult with me to look at the platform in more detail. It allows you to push any of the content we discussed (including video) to your TV in your reception room and schedule it.- as detailed as "Run it only on Monday's and Tuesday's in the months of January, March, June, September, and November." The platform also has personalized options for Social Media call to actions to help you drive your patients to Like, Share, Review and Check In on your social sites!
MailChimp is AHHHHHHHHmazing. I can't say enough about MailChimp, and it's free! Well, up to a point, but there's a lot of room in the free service. MailChimp to me is a MUST for any small or local business. I have been using it most recently to create custom, quick event landing pages to run Facebook ads to- WHAT?! Talk about power! Stay tuned for more detailed MailChimp trainings.
InfusionSoft is an automated email marketing software (similar to MailChimp) that has bucko automation power for online marketing. I use both MailChimp and InfusionSoft and think you should too! InfusionSoft's power is in it's ability to connect with VitaLogics Chiropractic EHR Software. So automated emails are triggered by your daily EHR functions. MailChimp is great for event email blasts and marketing, pre-patient emails. InfusionSoft is great for patient marketing email campaigns.
That concludes the short list of Social Media Technology Tools that I use and recommend to any Chiropractor and Small Business Owner. One tool that I have recently added into the arsenal and am loving is Priv.ly. Will put it in a blog and/or #TechTuesday training after finish testing more! Here is the video replay of the TechTuesday where we discussed the tools mentioned in this article.
The goal is to save time and money while leveraging social media and technology to grow your Chiropractic Clinic! Please share this article with anyone in your networks that may benefit from this information!
